Happy Tails: Sandy (Blondie)

By: Brenda & James P

Blondie, now Sandy, with her furever family.

After James & I put our 16 year old Beagle Barney to sleep in May of this year, we were initially of the opinion that we could never go through that heartache again  it was just too painful. However, after a few months, we realized our family was missing a link (we have no children) and decided it was time to start looking for a furry friend that would again complete our household. We had heard of MB Mutts through a co-worker at MPI whose son had recently adopted Cummins. She absolutely raved about your organization and said that I should consider perusing your website for potential dogs to adopt.

My husband had his heart set on a dog that was part Border Collie, and when we saw Rennie on your website, we were interested in meeting her. After completing the online application (we were somewhat surprised at how in-depth the questions were, but also very pleased that your company was exceptionally concerned about their dogs’ well-being), we were approved! We subsequently saw Rennie, followed by Cinder two days later. Both dogs were slightly bigger than I was comfortable walking, and indicated to Trista that I would prefer a smaller dog, around the 25  35 lb. range. She then emailed us a photo of Blondie, and after meeting her for the first time at the foster family’s residence our search was over! Both James & I were instantly smitten with her and decided on the spot, that this was our fur-ever girl! We picked her up two days later, renamed her Sandy (for her coloring), and the rest, as they say, is history.

Sandy instantly bonded with us, and us with her. She’s such an easygoing dog who exudes affection and is, in our opinion, the perfect dog for our family! We love her to pieces!  If something were to happen to her, we would be as devastated as when Barney passed away. We hope to have her with us for a many, many years and look forward to giving her the best life possible. Everyone we know is of the same opinion  Sandy’s a lucky dog to part of the Plohman family. In reality it’s James & I who are the lucky ones. In our eyes, we’ve won the lottery with Sandy and we have you people to thank for that! Our experience with every single person we dealt with at Manitoba Mutts has been pleasant, knowledgeable, and just a pleasure to deal with! We will continue to rave about your organization and we applaud all of you for the admirable work you do to provide better lives for those animals who cannot provide for themselves.
