December is Drive to 25 … adoptions!

This December we have a goal – we want 25 pups going to a warm home by Christmas; because everyone deserves to be home for the holidays.

At this time of year, we have so many dogs and puppies living outside that are freezing and starving.  For every dog adopted, the foster home opens up to save another dog’s life.

In support of our goal, we are running an adoption fair on Dec 18th at Best West Pet Foods, 1150 St. James Ave.  We’ll also feature a new pup every day for the 12 Dogs of Christmas for the twelve days leading up to the adoption fair.

Click here for more information about our available dogs, or contact adoptions@manitobamutts.org for adoption inquiries and recommendations.

To help keep track of our adoptions, we will hang a stocking for each dog or puppy that finds their new home in December.  See how close we are to reaching our goal.

Please spread the word and help us reach our goal!

Black Dog Friday! - Great Deals on Great Dogs!

This year the Black Friday deals are heading North!

Join MMDR in our first Black Dog Friday! Today only apply to adopt a black dog from Manitoba Mutts and receive $50 off that dogs adoption fee. Check out our adoptable dogs to see who qualifies!

This discount applies only to applications submitted on Friday November 25th and adoptions are still subject to approval.

Black dogs are often overlooked at shelters for no known reason. We have a lot of black dogs that have gone un-noticed for a while and we want them to show the world what good pets they can be!

At MMDR know they have just as much love to give and know they deserve a family of their very own.  Cosider adopting one of our black dogs today!

Winter's here, warm up with some fur

Hi All,

Wow, what a successful adoption fair last weekend! Six of our pups found loving forever homes. It was really great to see all our fosters and supporters. We couldn’t do any of this without you! Another special thanks to Bits and Bites for letting us taking over their store yet again. We can’t thank you enough.

We sure have a lot going on at the moment getting all our pups ready for the Holiday Season.

This year we are doing our first “I’ll be Home for Christmas” adoption campaign. We are setting a goal to have 25 adoptions leading up to Christmas. We would like as many dogs as possible to have a place to call home for the holidays.

We are counting on our fans to help make this possible. Helping out is as simple as liking our facebook page or sharing our adoptables album. Making a difference really can be that easy!

From December 7th to the 18th we are going to feature our “12 Dogs of Christmas”. Every day will have a new dog of  the day that we encourage everyone to promote in any way you can. Together we can help each one find a loving home in time for the holidays. Take a look through our adoptables and post a comment with your vote for who you would like to see as part of this event!

To kick it all off we are having a winter adoption fair Sunday November 27th from 11:00am – 4:00pm at Sophie’s Dognasium 1469 St. James Street.

Fur is always in style, and a fur buddy is the best way to keep warm this winter!

Welcome to our blog!

Hey dogs and dog lovers! We are happy to announce that our blog is up and running! Expect some tweaks and small changes in the future, but for now we're happy to start blogging about those who matter most to us, our mutts!

We will be using this blog not only to tell you about the dogs in our care, but also how to keep your 4-legged friend healthy, tip and tricks, the latest in "dog awesomeness", and much more...

Oh, and also about events that we have coming up! Speaking of which....

The first order of business that we want to share is that we have an adoption fair coming up TOMORROW! That's right, TOMORROW! What a great time to welcome a new pup into your family. We have so many puppies that are growing up in foster care and they all really deserve to meet their forever families and become wonderful dogs alongside them.

Many of our dogs are going to be there and we'd love for all of them to find wonderful homes (but we'll settle for a few :)! ). We will be at Bits & Bites Pet Station (135-2200 McPhillips Street) from 10am-4pm. Come by and visit our pups, learn more about our rescue, and consider adding a 4-legged companion to your family.
